I have added the smoothing option to the getndcs program 
that calculates tgcm inputs. I added it for all calculated hemispheric
powers, crosstail potentials, and by. I have run it for the
three cases july82, june91, and mar79 (march 20-29).  The
output is in sting:/d/foster/tgcminp. For each plot of hp,cp, or
by, the normal plot is followed by a smoothed plot, and same
in the lexical reads. All of these were done with a running
average of 5 values -- if this is not enough its easy to rerun
the program with more averaging.
