For the ASR:

The Thermosphere Ionosphere Electrodynamics General Circulation Model (TIEGCM)
code was completely rewritten to comply with Fortran 90 ANSII standards,
and to decompose the global domain in two dimensions (latitude and longitude)
for parallelization using the MPI (Message Passing Interface) standard. 
This model executes on SMP cluster machines by IBM, Compaq, and SGI.
History files are output in NetCDF, a flexible metadata format facilitating
post-processing and comparison with observations and other models.
