Ok, I've fixed the code. It was a dumb mistake, I don't know
why it had'nt come up before, i.e., since UNICOS fortran change
made internal writes beyond length of char vars a fatal error.

Anyway, I think you should revise your inputs, becuase I calculate
you would get 15,096 frames with your current setup:

(37 slices) * (17 fields) * (24 times) = 15096 frames.
