Ray: There is a metacode file on /sting/d/foster/uars/hrdi called tuarb1.cgm, which contains 18 frames, 6 each for 3 orbits (hrdi un, gcm un, hrdi vn, gcm vn, hrdi vectors, gcm vectors in that order for each orbit). These frames were made from the "binned" hrdi data file sent to me by Don Wu (dwu) last Monday for uars day 154. They are much smaller files than before, i.e., fewer points per orbit. I'm defining an orbit by local time; it is usually about slt 7 to 16, with 16 or 17 points (x-axis). The timesgcm data is all from a single history: /ROBLE/RGR92/TUARB1, 16,0,0. The timesgcm data is interpolated to the hrdi altitude profile (65 to 105 km), and to the uars latitude and local time, (i.e., I find the longitude corresponding to the satellite slt and the gcm ut, and interpolate from the gcm grid to that longitude). There is still very little obvious correlation between the hrdi and timesgcm plots. I'm not sure if TUARB1 has diurnal or semi- diurnal tides, but I suspect that would make a difference. If you have a different timesgcm history for me to try, it is easy to rerun the code with a different history. I can also easily fax you hardcopies of any of these plots, if you have trouble viewing them there. I'll be in the office Monday, so you can call or send email. (BTW, plots for all 15 orbits (90 frames) for day 154 are in the file /sting/d/foster/uars/hrdi/C/tuarb1.all.cgm) --Ben
