Chet: Ray asked me to send you postscript and ascii data files of some time-gcm results. You can get these files by going to http://download.hao.ucar.edu and following links to /pub/foster/gardner. I have put 3 files in that directory (they are all text files, no binary): foster ftp 633548 Oct 18 10:48 eqtran4t.chet.d1-360.dat foster ftp 614473 Oct 18 10:48 eqtran4t.chet.d1-360.ps foster ftp 3535 Oct 18 10:48 rdascii.f The .dat file is ascii data, the .ps file is postscript, and the .f file is a crude example of how to read the ascii data file with fortran. There are 16 frames in the ps file. The data file has 16 sections corresponding to each frame in the ps file. The frames are as follows: 1 Contour time vs height: TN at north pole. 2 Contour time vs height: TN at south pole. 3 Contour time vs height: W at north pole. 4 Contour time vs height: W at south pole. 5 Line plot time vs TN at south pole, 85 km. 6 Line plot time vs TN at south pole, 89 km. 7 Line plot time vs TN at south pole, 91 km. 8 Line plot time vs TN at north pole, 85 km. 9 Line plot time vs TN at north pole, 89 km. 10 Line plot time vs TN at north pole, 91 km. 11 Line plot time vs W at south pole, 85 km. 12 Line plot time vs W at south pole, 89 km. 13 Line plot time vs W at south pole, 91 km. 14 Line plot time vs W at north pole, 85 km. 15 Line plot time vs W at north pole, 89 km. 16 Line plot time vs W at north pole, 91 km. If you want JAN in the center, you can read the data file and replot with IDL or with some other vis or graphics package. Let me know if you have any problem downloading or reading these files. --Ben ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ben Foster High Altitude Observatory (HAO) foster@.ucar.edu phone: 303-497-1595 fax: 303-497-1589 Nat.
