Steve: My comments regarding abstract #916 ("Massively Parallel Computing Enables Adaptive Predictions of the Sun's Storm Path"), submitted for SC98: In general, this abstract is poorly written. There are many spelling errors, and many sentences are incomplete or unclear. The name, a brief description, and purpose of the model needs to be stated clearly at the beginning. Each figure should be numbered and have a caption. The curves in the code scaling figure should be labeled to make clear the references in the text. I am returning the paper to you by black bag with some comments written in the margins. If this were being submitted for publication, I would have to reject it in its current form. However, the project itself is certainly relevant to SC98, and deserves to be presented at the conference. Maybe the complete paper, written for publication in the conference proceedings, will be more carefully written. Therefore, I'm returning it with the recommendation to "conditionally accept". --Ben ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ben Foster High Altitude Observatory (HAO) foster@ncar.ucar.edu phone: 303-497-1595 fax: 303-497-1589 Nat.
