Thierry Leblanc: Ray asked me to respond to your letter of Sep 17 requesting time-gcm results. I have put 6 files on anonymous ftp on the machine hao.ucar.edu in the directory /pub/foster/leblanc: total 5888 -rw-r--r-- 1 foster ftp 181908 Oct 8 15:15 ampha_decsol.dat -rw-r--r-- 1 foster ftp 760647 Oct 8 15:15 ampha_decsol.ps -rw-r--r-- 1 foster ftp 181908 Oct 8 15:15 ampha_eqnx.dat -rw-r--r-- 1 foster ftp 861253 Oct 8 15:15 ampha_eqnx.ps -rw-r--r-- 1 foster ftp 181908 Oct 8 15:15 ampha_junsol.dat -rw-r--r-- 1 foster ftp 769640 Oct 8 15:15 ampha_junsol.ps The ampha_decsol files are for december solstice, ampha_junsol files are for june solstice, ampha_eqnx files are for spring equinox. The *.ps files are postscript, each containing 18 frames. These are contours with latitude on the x-axis, height (30 to 120 km) on the y-axis (Zonal wind is +east, and meridional wind is +north, and both are in m/s): frame 1: zonal means of neutral zonal wind frame 2: zonal means of neutral meridional wind frame 3: amplitude (wave 1) of zonal wind frame 4: phase (wave 1) of zonal wind frame 5: amplitude (wave 2) of zonal wind frame 6: phase (wave 2) of zonal wind frame 7: amplitude (wave 3) of zonal wind frame 8: phase (wave 3) of zonal wind frame 9: amplitude (wave 4) of zonal wind frame 10: phase (wave 4) of zonal wind frames 11-18: same as frames 3-10, but for meridional wind. The *.dat files are ascii data corresponding to the ps contours. I will attach a small fortran source file that shows how to read the ascii data files. Hope this helps, please let me know if you need more data or help. --Ben ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ben Foster High Altitude Observatory (HAO) foster@ncar.ucar.edu phone: 303-497-1595 fax: 303-497-1589 Nat.
