When I came to hao in 1985, the TGCM models had already been in development at least 15 years. I think it was TIGCM at the time, as the Electrodynamics had not yet been written into the model. I was hired as a "computer programmer", later my position changed to "software engineer", but essentially a technical support role. I recall Ray saying "Oh, its just a simple model, an adaptation of the CCM for the Thermosphere, with only T,U,V,O2,O and Z" Ray may show a slide at CEDAR, with the names of many of his collaborators over the years..there must be 2 or 300 names crowded onto the single slide, so the font is so small
